David’s professional background includes 10+ years with Koch Industries, where his progressive business acumen prompted early advancement to leadership roles. As COO and CFO of The Victor L. Phillips Company, David honed his talent for collaborating with CEOs and business owners to clarify their vision, identify opportunities, then optimize resources to achieve it; giving them results and peace of mind. In 2011, David was awarded Chief Financial Officer of the Year by the Kansas City Business Journal. In 2019, he received the Kansas City Spirit Award for Philanthropic Community Support by Cornerstones of Care. David has held many significant roles throughout his career, including: CFO, COO, and Vice-Chairman of the Board for The Victor L. Phillips Co. (1999 to 2019), and various positions at Koch Industries, including Business Development Manager for Koch Fertilizer Companies (1998-1999), and Controller at Koch Fertilizer, Beef & Sulfur Products Companies (1991-1998). Before this, David served as the Accounting Manager for Koch Hydrocarbons Group (1988-1991) and as a Senior Internal Auditor for Koch Industries (1985-1988).
David earned a degree in Accounting from Fort Hays State University. He has also served in many volunteer positions, including being the former Chairman of the Board for Cornerstones of Care, a non-profit organization with 800 employees supporting 15,000 children and families in Missouri and Kansas.
David is married for nearly 30 years and has a son that is attending college. The family enjoys sporting events, outdoor recreational activities, travel, and spending time at the family farm. David is based in Kansas City Missouri.
