Prior to joining ExecHQ, David spent his first 35 years in various industry verticals as an integral member of their respective accounting teams, with over 20 of those years as the top financial executive/CFO. In 2012, David started Lease Royalty Consultants, LLC, and then in 2013, formed Robinson Consulting Group, LLC, which became the new combined services company where David remains as the Managing Member of the firm.

David brings a very broad base of accounting/financial background experience to the ExecHQ team as his career spans the public accounting, banking, manufacturing, mining, construction, retail, industrial, land/mineral owners, and general business cost savings services for various sized businesses. David’s vast experience as a CFO allows him to fully understand the financial needs of any organization and he can apply this knowledge in diverse situations guiding his clients to a leaner, more efficient, and more profitable organization.

I have known David since 2004 and have worked with him at two different companies. David has a talent for speaking the language of any audience with whom he is speaking. He learns the operations by visiting the sites and talking with the engineers and operations members. David then utilizes the knowledge he gains from interacting with the various operational sites to prepare budgets, forecasts and pro-formas with an extremely high degree of accuracy. He also shares his financial skills with the operational personnel to help guide and teach them how they can make their areas of responsibility more efficient, cost effective, and profitable. His ability to explain financial statements and models to any audience allows David to gain the respect from all areas of the company. I have witnessed David teach all levels of an operation to think and treat their area(s) of operation as their own company where they are responsible for the expenses that will eventually make their way to the income statement. His successes in turning mediocre performers into strong and profitable achievers, has allowed David to bring value to many organizations. The fact that his success stories span many types of industries and organizations, makes David the perfect choice for any size business across multiple venues. David truly brings expertise to the table.

David holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Charleston (Magna Cum Laude), and an MBA from Marshall University. David and his wife Teresa have been married since 1978 and have two children, Chad and Michelle, and three granddaughters. David and Teresa will be moving to the Austin, Texas, area in 2020.

In David’s spare time, he and his wife enjoy riding their Harley Davidson Tri Glide Ultra motorcycle, volunteering at their Church and spending time with their family.
