During his career, Black has held executive positions with multiple international organizations (both public and privately owned), ranging in size from $25 million to $400 million in revenue. He has experience in transportation, logistics, warehousing and communications.
Black successfully directed several acquisitions, having responsibility for the analysis, presentation to the Board of Directors, negotiations and the ultimate transition of staff, processes and customers into the primary organization. Black has also restructured corporate assets and staffing to eliminate underperforming business units resulting in more efficient and effective capacity utilization.
Black has also led major strategic acquisitions as CFO of Tropical Shipping. Black specializes in financial leadership, business strategy, mergers & acquisitions, CFO mentoring, and public and international companies. Prior to his consulting practice, Black was COO and CFO of Globe Wireless, a radio and satellite communication company serving America, Europe and Asia. Prior to Globe, Black held multiple positions with Tropical Shipping, including Senior VP of Foreign Operations and CFO.
In addition, Black was General Manager of Thompson Shipping and Director of Finance for International Shipping Partners. Black began his career as a staff auditor for one of the Big Eight Accounting firms in Miami. Black holds a Masters degree in Accounting from the University of Illinois and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Miami. He has an inactive CPA license in the state of Florida.
